Such an old school video, i think i was a Junior in High School!! I took this video of some of my friends that had started a band together. They are the people who got me into Senses Fail, Brand New, Taking Back Sunday etc, etc, etc! This is them covering Senses Fail’s “Buried A Lie.” Not the best cover but it was a fun night! =)
HOLY SHIT!! WE’RE IN ANOTHER SXSW video of Vonnegutt!!
So this time we’re closer to the stage and I am next to this girl in a pink blouse (who was wasted and annoying and wanting to sleep with all the musicians btw..lol), So im to the left of her in a gray/black flannel and my bestie Kat is next to me wearing a tank top! =)
HOLY SHIT!! Vonnegutt played sxsw and my friend Kat and I went to see them. They were streaming a lot of the concerts live and that one was one of them! AND we’re in one of the videos…possibly another one! OMG!! how awesome is that!! Vonnegutt was great live they set the mood for the night! We we’re dancing through out there set and every band that played after them! twas an amazing night!

Kevin Devine in Denton,Tx…WTF!!
So this is my fucking third time to write this blog…I was writing it last night while watching Robot Chicken and Aqua Teen Hunger Force (Meatwad rocks!) and it posted with nothing on there! WTF tumblr! damn whore!
Ok, So Kevin Devine played at Dan’s Silver Leaf in Denton, Tx!! UNT Represent!!! My old college stomping ground, well chalking ground actually. My suitemate and I would go around campus chalking up the sidewalks and walls haha. fun times! 2 hours of Kevin Devine = An amazingly awesome fucking time!! Carey Brandenburg (I think that’s her name??) accompanied Kevin on this tour and they did some songs together. It was nice, I like when they sing together their voices mesh well!
While starting to play I Could Be With Anyone, someone dropped their phone. I thought it was a firecracker, but Kevin thought it was a gun shot. lol He got freaked out and was like damn someone really doesnt like this song haha. He restarted the song and nobody got shot! =)
At one point, Kevin took a little pause and so I yelled out “STORY TIME!!” he said he couldnt just do it on a whim…he called me sister…he’s so gangsta! lol! But he did start talking about what he did in Denton, but kept going on and on and said we’ll talk about this later. We didn’t…I forgot! =(
He played Me and My Friends for the birthday boy Gustavo! There was an interesting dialogue that happened between Kevin, Gustavo and some other guy. Don’t really remember it all, just remember something about Gustavo ballin’ since the age of 4 and someone’s gonna get shot. Dont know but it was funny and interesting. =)
Kevin finally told a story, it was after playing I think No Time Flat…I think. He said he was in Houston and this was when he was a free agent. Didn’t know people use free agent still to express they’re single…whatever floats your boat! So being a free agent he started talking it up with bartender and they were flirting with each other and what not. Then he played his show and he played that song, after his set he went to get a beer and finish chatting it up with that chick.Well she wasnt to fond of that song and stopped serving him beer and basically didnt acknowledge his existance. prettty shitty, but what can ya do.
So I got to talk to Kevin and after the show. I told him I was disappointed in him and he said he didnt know if he could handle that. Now the reason why I was diappointed in him was cuz I had talked to him in Austin and I asked if he was gunna cover any Elliott Smith songs, he said he would on his headlining tour. So headlining now and we get to request songs, so I requested some Elliott…and got nada. =( It makes my eyes rain! Then we talked about Elliott for a lil bit and I got a pic with him and hugs! yay for hugs! I like hugs! =)
